The Story Behind the Stories

Blythe went to visit her family in New Orleans, LA and got to talking with her wise, wise mother. Her mom was telling her about so many wonderful stories she heard on the news, about positive things, like people helping the homeless, prisoners training dogs to serve the disabled, teachers using their own money to buy food for their students to have to eat on the weekends...and so on..and, yet, every time Blythe looked at the news, all she saw were flashes of Tiger Woods and the many women he has slept with other than his wife. Or anytime she talked to a friend at home, she would hear about the cab drivers being murdered in the city or the increased crime rate in New Orleans.
Blythe felt inspired and started to think about her life as a social worker in Chicago and how every day of her life she sees people doing amazing things to change the world and how they don't get any notoriety for it at all. She thought about how negative the stories she hears from her friends and colleagues are sometimes and how hearing only a few positive stories from her mom lifted her spirit and made her want to be more of service in her day-to-day life.
When Blythe got home from her trip, she talked to Yvonne and shared all of her thoughts about her idea that if she had been so affected by the negative and so inspired by the positive, what a different state-of-mind all people would be in if even ONE news station or publication would just run 80-100% positive news. If they tuned into something positive, even just five minutes a day. She thought about how this could change the perspective of most people from negative to positive if one person would make the decision that sweet, not smut sells.
Yvonne, the thinker in our operation, had an idea.
"Why don't we start a newsletter of all positive news, then?"
And, five minutes later, after yummy vegan pot pie and logging onto blogger, we've decided that, instead of waiting around for someone else to do it, we would do it ourselves.
So, please TELL YOUR FRIENDS, TELL YOUR COLLEAGUES, TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR WHO NEEDS A PICK-ME-UP to come read some positive, inspiring, and, most importantly, TRUE news about people around the world and in our lives embracing the lightness of their humanity...one...story...at...a....time.....Oh, and PLEASE SHARE YOUR NEWS WE CAN USE to make a difference in the world too.
